This is a joint webcast held by the Chartered Banker Institute, ICAEW North West and The Manchester Metropolitan University. 

Our panel will discuss diversity and how it drives company performance and multiple surrounding aspects.

Iwi has worked in higher education for over 20 years in wide range of professional services and academic roles. She is a Fellow of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and completed an Executive MBA in 2010.  She worked as both a management and financial accountant for nearly a decade and wanted to be a Finance Director, before her heart took her into the brilliant world of accounting education.  

She is currently a Reader in the Accounting, Banking & Finance department and the department lead on Postgraduate Employability.  Her current research focuses on intersectionality issues impacting on the racialised experiences of students in the academy, with particular focus on student transition from higher education to the graduate labour market and closing degree awarding gaps.

Harriet Padina is a Diversity and Inclusion Community Manager for Siemens UK & Ireland and has worked for Siemens for 17 years.  Harriet has a Masters degree in Engineering from Durham University and in Siemens has worked across Talent Management, Talent Acquisition and Organisational Effectiveness.  Harriet leads the Siemens UK approach to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, working through a network of champions and in collaboration with business leaders, HR experts and employee networks to drive and escalate progress.  Harriet is passionate about the value of diverse thinking and about creating an organisation where everyone belongs.

Andrew Harbot-Taylor is the Financial Controller of Awaze Vacation Rentals, a Holiday agency behind well known brands such as Hoseasons, James Villas and Cottages.com. Having briefly worked in IT after his university degree, Andrew joined KPMG in St Albans in 2015 before joining Awaze in 2019.  Andrew is part of the Diversity & Inclusion Group at Awaze, and is the D&I Representative on the ICAEW Lancashire & South Lakeland committee.
