The Institute continues to expand its range of learning partnerships both in the UK and internationally.

In the UK, a number of universities are now recognised as Centres of Excellence. This scheme provides a framework for collaboration with higher education institutions that enables appropriate degrees to be formally accredited by the Institute, offering an accelerated pathway to an Institute qualification or to the award of membership status.

In order to be recognised as a Chartered Banker Centre of Excellence, a university must:

  • Have a relevant banking and finance degree accredited by the Institute
  • Host jointly branded events, providing opportunities to bring together academics and banking professionals to share knowledge and experience, as well as enabling expansion of professional networks
  • Collaborate on areas of research, which are of interest to the Institute’s membership

In addition to Centres of Excellence, some other universities have also had degree courses accredited by the Institute, offering routes to Chartered Banker status.

We are delighted to support the BAFA Financial Markets and Institutions Special Interest Group. The Financial Markets and Institutions Special Interest Group brings together academics with research and scholarly interests in financial markets and institutions. This is a dynamic field of scholarship and an environment where the exchange of ideas and collaboration between academics, professional and regulatory bodies and other stakeholders can contribute much.
