International Webinar: Green Finance and Responsible Investing
The Chartered Banker Institute is proud to partner with FINSIA and the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers on our first International Webinar.
With climate change increasingly dominating the news agenda, this timely, thought-provoking webinar will look at Green Finance and Responsible Investing.
Senior FINSIA fellow Giles Gunesekera, who has been recognised for his early advocacy of Impact Investing and ESG by the United Nations, are on a panel with Dr Angela Falconer, moderated by Chartered Banker Institute CEO Simon Thompson, author of "Green & Sustainable Finance: Principles and Practice" and Co-Chair of the UK's Green Finance Education Charter initiative.
Giles, a veteran investment professional, has predicted green bonds will play an increasingly important role in financing the world's shift to a low carbon economy and will need to amount to $6trillion a year.
Dr. Angela Falconer is Associate Director in CPI’s climate finance division. She leads the London office, where she oversees the work of a team of analysts, while also supporting cross-cutting strategic projects for the organization. She advises government and investment leaders on climate finance, and brings particular expertise on the land use and agriculture sectors.
This webinar explores how Australia and the UK are progressing in this space and how they compare globally on green and sustainable finance, responsible lending and financial inclusion.
