Overview

Covid has deeply affected and changed how banking services are provided in many ways, particularly banks interactions with small businesses during this challenging and uncertain period; in this webcast, we will discuss the measures small businesses have taken, in order to survive and the economic decisions they have had to face.

In 2020, SME’s made up 99.3% of the UK’s total business, how has the Small Business ecosystem faired during the disruption brought by the pandemic? A recent Financial Times article revealed that almost 100,000 more businesses were found to be significantly distressed in the first three months of the year compared with the previous quarter, despite the ban on winding-up petitions linked to Covid-related debts.

So, what does the future look like for small businesses?

During this webcast, our Chair and esteemed panellists will discuss:

  • If the UK Government’s 'Pay As You Grow' scheme is delivering for Small businesses and whether it will continue to do so?
  • The level of support provided to self-employed small business owners.
  • The Federation of Small Businesses’ (FSB) request for the UK Government to place small firms at the hub of plans for our economy's recovery.
