Building Professionalism in Banking – Bridging the Standards gap

Allan is currently an International Business Partner at the Chartered Banker Institute, UK, where he has also served as the Professional Standards Manager. Prior to this Allan served in a number of leadership positions including; Relationship Manager, International Banking at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management; Associate Director, Bank of Ireland Corporate and Treasury and Business Manager at Clydesdale Bank.

Julias Alego is the Chief Executive Officer of the Kenya Institute of Bankers – KIB, having joined the organization in early 2021 and charged with the responsibility to turn around the institute. Prior to joining KIB, he worked at the Financial Sector Deepening Africa – FSD Africa, a United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office – FCDO funded agency, as Director of Professional Education. Here he spearheaded the funding and successful implementation of several skills development programmes across sub–Saharan Africa aimed at increasing the Talent Pool in the financial sector. Before his stint at FSD Africa, he was the General Manager, Learning and Leadership Development at the Equity Bank Ltd. He also had worked at the Standard Chartered Bank as a Leadership and Management Facilitator as well as the Head of Learning and Talent Management for East Africa.
 

Amrita is the Professional Standards Manager at the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). She focuses on raising awareness, standards and understanding of working with Integrity in financial services through the Institute’s various initiatives. Prior to the CISI, Amrita worked as an Ethics Communication Specialist at the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) delivering on projects to improve communication and understanding of the Code of Ethics through research, reports and articles, social media and events. After graduating in Politics and International Relations from Royal Holloway, University of London, Amrita worked for various communication consultancies in London driving healthcare policy change through parliamentarians at Westminster.
